July 4th Weddings

Rockford Bride Wedding Guide

July 4th is a day for celebrating our nation’s independence from Great Britain, but it can also be a great day to celebrate the union of two people in matrimony. There are two types of July 4th weddings, the July 4th themed wedding, and the wedding that occurs on July 4th. Both types of weddings are fun ways to celebrate your wedding day. Our Independence Day has many traditions that can be incorporated into your wedding.

One of the more popular July 4th traditions are fireworks. Independence Day does not happen without fireworks! The best part of fireworks is that you can enjoy them at no cost to you. If you find a venue near where they set off fireworks, they provide entertainment for your guests at your wedding. In addition, fireworks are fantastic photo backdrops for the planned and spontaneous photos.

Another great tradition for July 4th is the food. Catering is simple when you stick to traditional July 4th food such as brats, burgers, potato salad, corn on the cob, and pies. Most of your guests will expect food more in-line with the holiday so it takes the pressure off to be inventive. However, there is no written rule that you have to stick with traditional Independence Day food traditions. You certainly can break out of the shell and do something more unexpected.

Almost everyone receives July 4th off from his or her work, which is a great benefit if you are planning a wedding in the middle of the week. There is less pressure for you to accommodate guests when deciding on your guest list. Since your guests already have the day off, they will not have to make special arrangements to take off which means less hassle for them and you.

No matter how you spend your July 4th wedding it should be special and reflect you as a couple. You do not have to have all the trappings of July 4th, but it is fun to choose some of your favorites and incorporate them into your special day.
