Bridal shows are a very exciting and fun part of the wedding planning process! There are just a few need-to-know things to get you started and make sure you are totally prepared! The first thing to do is purchase your ticket. Buying ahead of time will ensure that you are able to get a ticket to the show. Pre-ordering may also give you the benefit of a discount on your ticket, and you won’t have to wait in line at the show. Instead, you can get straight to the fun!
In preparation for the bridal show, there are some things you can do to get ready and make sure you are going to get the most out of it as possible. Before you leave the house, make sure that you are wearing something comfortable. Depending on where the show is located, and its size, you are probably going to be doing a lot of walking and standing during the day. You also are going to want to bring someone with you. There is going to be so much going on you will want another set of eyes and someone that can help you figure out your ideas. The last things you will want to bring with you are the necessary items to collect the most information. You will want to bring a decent sized bag to make sure you have room for all of the pamphlets and papers you will obtain during your time. In that bag you are going to want to have a pen, paper and your planner. That way you can keep all of your information organized and write down any appointment times you sign up for or dates of future appointments you want to remember. Also a time saver would be to have vendor information address labels in your bag. You will be signing up for so much you can save time, and make sure your information is legible. Add any information you feel necessary such as your address, email, and possibly phone number. Money would be a great thing to bring, if you find something that you like at the show you may be able to purchase it that day, such as your jewelry. Make sure you have cash and cards; everybody is different with what payment preference they have. The last piece of advice would be to make sure that you have pictures or samples of what you want or already have purchased with you. By doing that you can make sure you are picking out things that match your theme and any dresses or attire you may have already purchased.
One very important tip would be to set up an email address, and even possibly a P.O. Box for yourself during the time period you are planning your wedding. Throughout the show you are going to sign up for a lot of marketing information and giveaways. All of these vendors are going to be interested in your business. Many people don't want their personal email to be overflowing or their mailbox to be constantly packed. Doing these two little things are going to simplify your life. As soon as the wedding is over you can cancel the P.O. Box, email and the information will stop coming to you.
Don’t be afraid to spend time at the vendor booths and ask plenty of questions. The purposes of the show for you is to gain answers and ideas, and that is what the vendors are there for. Make sure you know who you’re talking to, that way you can call that vendor later and continue with the same person if they are in charge of the service provided. Don’t be afraid to take notes and pictures, you want to remember what you saw. You’re going to see a lot, so be prepared for a fun and busy day!
